My Story
I’ve always known I wanted something different out of life.
When I was growing up I wanted to be a ballerina (or a princess!). Then I started building castles out of paper and fancied maybe becoming an architect. I also loved music and thought I might become a famous violinist. A few years later and being an olympic soccer player wasn’t out of the question. Then aging and the concept of realism hit, and I thought about being a cop, maybe an EMT. I went into college and started taking credits towards getting a sports med major and quickly realized I had to take far too many math classes and switched over to an art major. Five years later, I graduated with a BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts) with a concentration in Photography and a minor in Business and another minor in Information Science and Technology (whatever that means). As a freshly graduated art student I did what many of us do…got a job waitressing. Then worked for an art gallery behind the scenes framing/laminating prints. It was about then that decided it was enough and took what small savings I had and left to travel Europe and Thailand. There, not only did I get to play with a baby elephant for two weeks straight, I also caught the travel bug. After that trip the plan was to return home, save up money, and travel more! The next two years grew my love of fitness, I got a job teaching kickboxing that taught me so many things. From leading group fitness classes and managing a team to social media and book keeping. But the best lesson was how much of an incredible impact fitness can have on people’s lives and how empowered it can make them feel. The joy and energy radiating from people when they would rush into the gym at 5:30am in the morning to tell me they finally hit their goal weight was my favorite and I carry all those memories with me.
Once I saved up a little I bought a one way ticket to Singapore and spent the next 9 months traveling 8 countries in Asia and learning something amazing in every one (it’s also where I started my health/life coaching certification and got certified to teach yoga!).
I always felt like I would never fit in but some how the different pieces all started to come together. Only now after years of following the “right path” did I realize that I don’t have to fit into the conventional box and do what society expects of me…and neither do you.
I’ve decided there’s no better fit for me other than to be a "Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur” (term coined by Marie Forleo). I consider myself very lucky and blessed to have had all these amazing experiences in my life (I’ll tell you more about them in upcoming posts!) but it hasn’t come without a lot of hard work, risks, and a whole lot of fear facing. My life’s purpose is to always strive to be the very best I can be and my passion is to help you to the same. Whether that’s unlocking what’s been inside you all along, how to be unshakeable in your journey to do what you truly want, or simply learning to love your body and the person you are. This is why I created Fiercely Be, to help you cut through all the confusion and truly be fierce in your pursuit of life.
